Pixar Bikes City e-bikes
Affordable step-through and retro e-bikes with big claimed ranges, sold on 14-day returns with a EUR 100 fee, a 12-month battery warranty and a polarised 3.0 Trustpilot score.

Well-priced bikes with ambitious claims, sold on terms that put risk on the buyer
Pixar sells step-through city bikes, a retro cruiser, a folding bike and a touring bike, direct to customers in the EU and UK. The company behind the shop is Amano Bike GmbH in Düsseldorf, and the best sellers are the Cruiser at €749 and the C1 Pro at €1,099.
The bikes carry a long list of specifications: 250 W Bafang motors, Samsung 21700 batteries from 460 Wh to 648 Wh, Shimano 7-speed gears and disc brakes, and claimed ranges of 120 to 150 km. Our caution is about proof and terms. We found no independent test of any Pixar bike, an Irish dealer quotes a real-world range of 55 to 65 km for the C1 Pro, Trustpilot shows a split 3.0 out of 5 with half the reviews at one star, and returns cost €100 for a change of mind, with extra fees if the bike has been used.
Right for
- Budget-minded commuters in the EU or UK who want a step-through bike with a rack and fenders
- Buyers who will check the batteries and brakes carefully on arrival and test the bike inside 14 days
- People who can handle a bike that ships mostly assembled and who accept a 12-month battery warranty
Wrong for
- Anyone who needs an independently reviewed bike or a long battery warranty
- Buyers who want to be able to return a bike after a longer test period without fees
- Riders who rely on the brand's maximum range figures for long trips
+What it gets right
- Low prices. Sale prices start at €749, with a rack, fenders and in some combos a basket included.
- Specific spec sheets. Product pages give battery capacity (460 Wh and 648 Wh), weight (26.4 kg and 32.9 kg), motor, gears and brakes.
- EU delivery. Dispatch is 1 to 2 business days and delivery 5 to 10 business days by DHL, FedEx or DPD, with VAT included.
- Cover for frame, motor and fork. The warranty table lists 24 months for the motor, frame and fork.
- Many on-site reviews. The Cruiser shows 222 reviews and the C1 Pro 102 on the store.
−Where it slips
- No independent test found. We found no professional hands-on review of a Pixar bike, and the dealer figures we found differ from the brand's.
- Polarised Trustpilot. 3.0 out of 5 from 44 reviews, with 34% five-star and 50% one-star.
- Short battery cover. The battery and most other components are covered for 12 months, not the headline 2 years.
- Return fees. A personal-reason return costs €100, a repack about €150 if you lost the box, and used bikes face a 10% to 20% restocking fee.
- Inconsistent frame warranty. The Terms say 5 years on the frame, while the warranty page table lists 24 months.
- Exaggerated list prices. The crossed-out prices are about twice the sale prices, which makes the discounts look larger than they are.
Weighted for evidence, warranty and returns, and what owners say
Because we have no independent test to rely on, the quality of the spec sheet, the warranty and returns terms and customer feedback carry the most weight. This is a desk-research score: we have not ridden a Pixar bike.
The long version
What the brand sells, what the terms say and what we could find about its reputation.
What Pixar Bikes is
Pixar Bikes sells electric bikes direct from pixarbikes.com to customers in the EU and UK, with VAT included in the price. The terms of service name the seller as Amano Bike GmbH in Düsseldorf. The brand says it was founded in 2013, manufactures in-house and had its bikes tested by more than 50 influencers; those are the brand's own statements. The range includes the C1 and C1 Pro and the Cruiser step-through city bikes, the M9 retro bike, the Rusher, the Largo touring bike and the Forge folding bike.

The bikes

C1 Pro
At €1,099 (listed at €2,099), the C1 Pro is a step-through bike with a 250 W Bafang rear motor, a 36 V 18 Ah Samsung 21700 battery of 648 Wh, a 7-speed Shimano drivetrain and disc brakes. The page quotes a weight of 32.9 kg and a maximum range of 150 km, and the combos include a rack, fenders and front basket. Its listing shows 102 reviews.
Cruiser
At €749 (listed at €1,599), the Cruiser is the cheapest and the first item on the store's best-selling sort. It has the same 250 W motor with a 36 V 12.8 Ah, 460 Wh Samsung battery, 26.4 kg weight and a claimed range of up to 120 km at an average of 10 km/h, falling to 98 km at 14 km/h. The listing shows 222 reviews and says the bike ships 90% pre-assembled.
What we could verify independently
We found no professional hands-on test of a Pixar bike. The closest outside source is a stockist's page in Ireland, Inner City Scooters, which is a retailer and not an independent reviewer. It lists the C1 Pro at €949 with a 36 V 18 Ah EVE battery, quick-release, hydraulic disc brakes and a real-world range of around 55 to 65 km, and gives a 1-year limited warranty for its own customers. That differs from the brand's Samsung cells and 150 km maximum, which is why we recommend confirming the exact cells and range with the seller.
What customers report
Trustpilot shows a claimed profile with 3.0 out of 5 from 44 reviews: 34% five-star, 14% four-star, 2% two-star and 50% one-star. The company asks customers to review and replies to 65% of negative reviews, typically within a month. Recent reviews include short positive notes about a bike that runs great and arrived as ordered, and a reviewer who said the shipping error and slow turnaround were frustrating but support was helpful.

Warranty and returns

The warranty policy gives consumers in the EU a 2-year limited warranty on manufacturing defects, but the table splits it: 24 months for the motor, frame and fork and 12 months for the battery, display, controller, brakes and most other parts. The Terms of Service say 2 years, and 5 years for the frame, which does not match the table.

- Return window. 14 days from receipt, requested by email before you ship anything.
- Change of mind. A €100 return fee is deducted from the refund.
- Opened bikes. The bike must be unused and disassembled to its original state, and if the box is lost a repack fee of about €150 applies.
- Used bikes. A usage fee plus a restocking fee of about 10% to 20% after assessment.
- Excluded. Special offer or clearance items and promotional gifts.
- Refund timing. Inspection takes 2 to 7 days, then 1 to 5 business days to refund.
Buying advice
Confirm the battery capacity and cells on your exact order, record unboxing, and ride the bike within the first week. If you need to return, email support before you ship anything and keep the original box until you are sure.
Everything on paper
Figures from pixarbikes.com product, policy and terms pages and Trustpilot, checked 12 Oct 2026.
Range figures are the brand's maximum, measured at low assist and low speed, and will be lower in normal use.
Two best sellers worth a look
The Cruiser is the cheapest and the first on the store's best-selling sort, and the C1 Pro adds a bigger battery and lights. Prices are sale prices on 12 Oct 2026, with the listed price in brackets.
| Bike | Price | Battery and motor | Weight and range claim |
|---|---|---|---|
| PIXAR Cruiser | €749 (€1,599) | 250 W Bafang, 36 V 12.8 Ah, 460 Wh Samsung | 26.4 kg · up to 120 km |
| PIXAR C1 Pro | €1,099 (€2,099) | 250 W Bafang, 36 V 18 Ah, 648 Wh Samsung | 32.9 kg · up to 150 km |
Choose the Cruiser if price and weight matter most. Choose the C1 Pro if you want the bigger battery, but expect real-world range well below the maximum claim and check which cells your unit ships with.

Cheap and well-specified on paper, with limited proof and tight terms
Pixar offers a lot of bike for the money. The step-through frames, racks and fenders suit commuting, and the spec sheets are more detailed than many direct-to-consumer brands.
What is missing is independent confirmation. Range claims are optimistic, real-world figures from a dealer are less than half the brand's, the battery warranty is 12 months and returns carry fees. If you buy, treat the 14-day window as a strict test period.
Consider it if you
- You want a low-cost step-through e-bike and will inspect it carefully on arrival
- You are happy with a realistic range of well under the brand's maximum
- You will test it inside 14 days and keep the packaging
Skip it if you
- You want an independently tested e-bike
- You expect a 2-year battery warranty or a fee-free return
- You plan long rides based on the 120 to 150 km claims
How this review was put together
This is a desk-research review. We have not ridden or tested a Pixar bike. Product details, prices and policies come from pixarbikes.com (checked 12 Oct 2026), the company details from its Terms of Service, and reputation from the Trustpilot profile for pixarbikes.com, which we loaded directly. We found no professional hands-on review. An Irish stockist's page gives real-world figures that we cite as a retailer statement, not an independent test. We wrote our own text. The images are our own screenshots of public pixarbikes.com and Trustpilot pages, taken on 12 Oct 2026 and shown for review and commentary; the content and branding belong to their owners, and we will remove them if asked. We did not download or reuse image files or logos, and we did not review the brand's affiliate programme terms.
