Rokid AR & smart glasses
A maker of display glasses and AR glasses whose products get respectable independent reviews, held back by a bulky design, thin software ecosystem and a poor Trustpilot record on support and refunds.

Capable glasses with credible independent reviews, but a support record you should weigh first
Rokid is a Chinese maker of smart glasses sold through global.rokid.com. Its AI line includes the Rokid Glasses with a monochrome display, camera and AI assistant, and the Rokid Ai Glasses Style without a display. Its AR line includes the Max 2, Rokid AR Spatial and Station accessories that put a large virtual screen in front of your eyes.
The products are better evidenced than the company. Trusted Reviews tested the Rokid Glasses in June 2026 and liked the AI, camera, translation and navigation but would not wear them out of the house because of the bulky, cheap-feeling build. TechRadar and Android Central tested the Max 2 AR glasses in 2025 and liked the display and myopia adjustment, with middling audio and a limited software ecosystem. The weak point is Trustpilot, where Global Rokid holds 2.3 out of 5 from 118 reviews and 37% are one-star, mostly about customer service, delays and refunds.
Right for
- Early adopters who want a display, camera and AI assistant in a glasses frame and accept first-generation quirks
- People who want a portable big-screen for travel or a handheld console, especially with mild short-sightedness (Max 2)
- Buyers who can use the 30-day return window early and keep all packaging
Wrong for
- Anyone who wants a discreet, stylish frame to wear in public
- Buyers who expect fast, reliable customer service or have little patience for refund delays
- Shoppers who want a rich app and content ecosystem out of the box
+What it gets right
- Independent tests exist. Trusted Reviews, TechRadar and Android Central all tested Rokid products and published detailed verdicts.
- Real features. Trusted Reviews found the AI assistant fast, translation and transcription rapid, Google Maps directions useful and 4K video stable.
- Good AR display. TechRadar and Android Central praised the Max 2's Sony micro-OLED screen, comfort and adjustability.
- Myopia adjustment. The Max 2 has a dial that adjusts for 0.00D to -6.00D without prescription inserts, per TechRadar.
- Clear published terms. The refund policy sets out 30 days, a 365-day warranty clause and a data-wipe requirement before returns.
−Where it slips
- Trustpilot. 2.3 out of 5 from 118 reviews, with 37% one-star. Reviewers cite unresponsive support, shipping delays and slow or reduced refunds, and the company has not replied to negative reviews.
- Design. Trusted Reviews called the Rokid Glasses thick, shiny and cheap-feeling and said they sit high on the face.
- Battery and app. Trusted Reviews got about eight hours of mixed use against a 12-hour claim and found the companion app a big battery drain.
- Audio. TechRadar called the Max 2's speakers middling and advised pairing Bluetooth headphones.
- Return cost. For non-defective returns the customer pays return shipping, the original shipping is non-refundable and label costs may be deducted.
- Camera glasses. The display glasses carry a camera, which raises privacy questions for people around you and for stored recordings.
Weighted for independent product tests, customer feedback and terms
Because a pair of glasses is an expensive, experimental purchase, we weighted customer service history alongside product tests. This is a desk-research score: we have not bought or worn Rokid glasses ourselves.
The long version
What Rokid sells, what independent reviewers found and what customers and the store's own terms say.
What Rokid is
Rokid is a smart-glasses company whose global store at global.rokid.com sells two lines. The AI line has the Rokid Glasses with a display, camera and assistant, and the Rokid Ai Glasses Style without a display. The AR line has the Max 2 AR glasses, the Rokid AR Spatial bundle, the Station streaming devices and accessories such as a GameSir controller. On 14 Oct 2026 the store was advertising a Halloween sale of up to $150 off and a free gift bag worth up to $246 with every order.

What independent reviewers found
Rokid Glasses (with display)
Trusted Reviews (Lewis Painter, 11 Jun 2026) tested the Rokid Glasses for over a week at a list price of GBP 639 or $799. It liked the AI assistant, the camera, quick translation and transcription and Google Maps directions, and measured about eight hours of mixed battery use against a claimed 12. It disliked the thick, shiny, cheap-feeling plastic, the way the glasses sit high on the face, the magnetic charging cable and the always-running companion app, which drained the phone battery. Its verdict was that it would not wear them out of the house. The glasses weigh 49g and the green display is visible to people nearby. A Tom's Guide IFA hands-on (4 Sep 2025) listed a $599 launch MSRP, a 23 degree field of view and a 1,500-nit monochrome green display; the site's full review could not be opened by us.

On 14 Oct 2026 the US-facing page we could open for the display glasses was a [B&H] listing at $699, with a Buy at B&H button and a Sold out label in the header. It lists a 1,500-nit Micro-LED display, a 12MP camera, translation, teleprompter and navigation and a 49g frame.
Rokid Max 2 AR glasses

TechRadar (Hamish Hector, 22 Jun 2025) praised the 120Hz full-HD Sony micro-OLED screen, 75g comfort and the 0.00D to -6.00D myopia adjustment, scoring design 4.5 out of 5 and performance and value 3.5. It called the audio middling and noted no electrochromic dimming. Android Central (Harish Jonnalagadda, 23 Jun 2025) called it the best AR glasses it had used for streaming and gaming but flagged minor changes over the original Max and a limited software ecosystem. Both reviews were of a launch price of $529; the store showed $249 on 14 Oct 2026.
What customers report

Trustpilot shows 2.3 out of 5 from 118 reviews: 40% five-star, 10% four-star, 8% three-star, 5% two-star and 37% one-star, with 42 reviews in the last 12 months. The page says the company has not replied to negative reviews. Recurring complaints include unresponsive support, shipping delays, slow or reduced refunds and, from earlier Kickstarter backers, missed delivery promises. Some reviewers say they enjoy the product itself. Trustpilot reviews are unverified opinions and the company has not recently invited reviews, so the sample may not be representative.
Shipping, returns and warranty

- Return window. Upload a return request within 30 days of receiving your shipment after contacting customer service by email.
- Costs. The customer pays return shipping for non-defective items, original shipping is non-refundable and label costs may be deducted.
- Refund timing. Within 7 days of Rokid receiving and inspecting the return, then 1 to 2 billing cycles to show on your statement.
- Data wipe. You must import captures, factory reset and power off the glasses before returning them.
- Warranty. Product pages say 1-year limited warranty; the policy describes a 365-day warranty that excludes drops, liquids and loss. Installed prescription lenses are final sale.
- Shipping. US standard shipping is free from $60 and takes 6 to 12 business days; it is $9.90 below $60.
- Policy quality. The refund text we read still contains template placeholders, including "[Your Brand]" and a bracketed email address, which suggests it was not carefully proofed.
Caveats
The display glasses carry a camera and microphones, and Trusted Reviews noted the glasses are obviously smart glasses rather than stealthy. Check workplace and venue rules and the privacy of anyone you record. We did not verify how Rokid's app stores or processes recordings.
Buying advice
Treat the 30-day return window as your trial period, test connection with your own phone or console in the first week and keep proofs of purchase. Consider the Max 2 first if you mainly want a screen, because it has the most settled independent verdicts.
Everything on paper
Figures from global.rokid.com product and policy pages, Trusted Reviews, TechRadar, Android Central and Trustpilot, checked 14 Oct 2026.
Prices, promotions and regional listings change often. Rokid showed a Halloween sale up to $150 off and a free gift bag on 14 Oct 2026. The AI glasses use Gemini or ChatGPT per Trusted Reviews.
Two products worth a look
The Rokid Glasses are the display AI glasses and the Max 2 is the AR-screen model. Prices are global.rokid.com prices on 14 Oct 2026.
| Product | Price | What it offers | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rokid Glasses (with display) | $699 (B&H listing) | Monochrome green display, 12 MP camera, AI assistant, translation, navigation, 49 g | Trusted Reviews: clever but bulky and cheap-feeling; app drains battery; Trustpilot support complaints |
| Rokid Max 2 AR Glasses | $249 | Large virtual screen from a USB-C source, Sony micro-OLED at 120 Hz, myopia adjustment, 75 g | TechRadar 4.5/5 design and 3.5/5 value; middling audio; needs a source device |
Choose the Max 2 if you want an entertainment screen for travel and can use a USB-C source. Choose the display glasses only if the AI and translation features justify a bulky frame and a first-generation product.

Interesting hardware from a company whose support record needs a careful buyer
Rokid's glasses are credible products. The Max 2 earned good reviews for its screen and comfort, and the Rokid Glasses won praise for features and criticism for looks. At $249 the Max 2 is attractive when discounted.
The reputation data is the catch. A 2.3 Trustpilot score, a large share of one-star reviews about support and refunds, and a policy where you pay return shipping all argue for testing early and keeping every document. We recommend it to informed early adopters, not to buyers who want a guaranteed smooth after-sales experience.
Consider it if you
- You want a portable big-screen glasses experience and can use a USB-C source
- You are comfortable testing and returning within 30 days if needed
- You accept a bulky first-generation frame for the AI and translation features
Skip it if you
- You want a stylish frame you can wear unnoticed
- You need dependable customer service and quick refunds
- You are uneasy about wearing a camera around other people
How this review was put together
This is a desk-research review. We have not bought or worn Rokid glasses. Prices, shipping, returns and warranty come from global.rokid.com (checked 14 Oct 2026, USD); the display-glasses page we could open was the B&H listing, while the direct Rokid Glasses page returned not found from our location although the product feed lists it. The store's product pages were captured with scripts switched off because the site redirected our browser to a French store. Independent evidence comes from Trusted Reviews' Rokid Glasses review by Lewis Painter (11 Jun 2026), TechRadar's Max 2 review by Hamish Hector (22 Jun 2025), Android Central's Max 2 review by Harish Jonnalagadda (23 Jun 2025) and a Tom's Guide IFA hands-on of the Rokid Glasses by Jason England (4 Sep 2025). We could not open the full Tom's Guide Rokid Glasses review or PhoneArena's review; we only saw their search excerpts and did not rely on them for any figure. Customer reputation is Trustpilot (118 reviews, checked 14 Oct 2026), which notes the company has not recently invited reviews and has not replied to negative reviews. We wrote our own text. The images are our own screenshots of public pages, taken on 14 Oct 2026 and shown for review and commentary; the content and branding belong to Rokid and Trustpilot, and we will remove them if asked. We did not download or reuse image files or logos, and we did not review the brand's affiliate programme terms. Review sites carry affiliate links and say their reviews are independent.
