Surfshark One and One+ Security bundle

A VPN bundle that adds antivirus, breach alerts, private search and a data-removal service, with strong test results and several audits, but with extras that testers say are hard to judge and refund rules that cover only the first purchase.

01The short version

A well-tested bundle whose extras are worth it mainly on the long-term plan

Surfshark sells its VPN on three tiers. Starter is the VPN with ad blocking and a masked-email tool, One adds an antivirus, data-leak alerts and a private search engine, and One+ adds the Incogni data-removal service. This review looks at those extras, the October 2026 prices and the audit trail rather than the VPN speed alone.

8.0/10
Verdict

PCMag gave the service 4.5 out of 5 and an Editors' Choice award in May 2026, and TechRadar, updated on 6 October 2026, calls One the best value of the three plans. Both are also candid about the extras: PCMag says the antivirus does not match Bitdefender and TechRadar calls the benefit of One+ hard to measure. The audit trail is longer than most rivals, but the monthly prices are steep and the refund covers only the first payment, so the bundle makes sense mostly if you take a long term and set a renewal reminder.

Right for

  • Households that want a VPN, a basic antivirus and breach alerts under one login
  • Buyers who will commit to a 12 or 24-month plan where the monthly price falls sharply
  • People who care about published audits and transparency reports

Wrong for

  • Anyone who wants a best-in-class standalone antivirus, which PCMag says this is not
  • Buyers who expect to try the service month by month, where One costs €19.95
  • Shoppers who want a refund on a renewal payment

+What it gets right

  • Strong lab-style results. PCMag measured a 7.73% download drop and a 7.12% upload drop, and Netflix opened in the UK, US, Japan, Australia and Canada.
  • Several audits. Deloitte reviewed the no-logs policy in January 2023 and June 2025, Cure53 audited the apps and infrastructure in 2018 and 2021, and SecuRing audited the network in January 2026, as reported by PCMag and Surfshark.
  • Bundled extras in one plan. One includes the VPN, Alternative ID, Antivirus, Alert, Search and Clean Web, per the One page.
  • Cheap on a long term. One is listed at €2.49 a month on the 24-month term, the same as Starter, during the banner promotion.
  • Independent praise for value. TechRadar says One is the best value of the three plans, and the VPN allows unlimited simultaneous connections.

−Where it slips

  • Monthly billing is expensive. The EU page lists One at €19.95 a month, and PCMag criticises Surfshark's monthly cost as well above the average it has reviewed.
  • The extras are hard to judge. TechRadar tested Alert with a compromised card and it returned no leaks, and calls the value of One+ over One difficult to assess.
  • Antivirus is not a leader. PCMag says the bundled antivirus does not stack up to standalone apps such as Bitdefender.
  • Refunds are narrow. The 30-day guarantee covers the initial purchase only, once per service, and recurring payments are non-refundable.
  • All or nothing cancellation. Bundled services cannot be cancelled one by one; you lose all of them.
  • Short connection data retention exists. The Terms say user ID or IP and connection timestamps are held and deleted within 15 minutes of a session ending.

The long version

What the bundle adds, what the October 2026 plan page shows, how two major test sites rated it and what the audit and refund terms say.

What the bundle adds

Surfshark's plan structure has three levels. Starter is the VPN with an ad and cookie pop-up blocker and the Alternative ID masked-email tool. One adds an antivirus, the Alert breach monitor, the private Search engine and Clean Web, according to Surfshark's One page. One+ adds Incogni, an automated service that asks data brokers to remove your information, available only to residents of the US, UK, EU, Switzerland and Canada. The plan page also lists scam protection and, for US residents except New York State, identity-theft cover of up to $1M.

What PCMag and TechRadar found

The PCMag Surfshark VPN review with a 4.5 Outstanding rating and Editors' Choice badge

PCMag (Justyn Newman, updated 22 May 2026) scored it 4.5 out of 5 and gave it an Editors' Choice award. In its Ookla tests download speed fell 7.73%, upload fell 7.12% and latency rose 201.34%. Netflix worked in the UK, US, Japan, Australia and Canada. It called the bundled antivirus not quite on par with standalone apps like Bitdefender, "but still one of the better add-on services that we've tested", and criticised the monthly price.

The TechRadar Surfshark VPN review with star rating and an 85 out of 100 points badge
Screenshot of the TechRadar Surfshark VPN review taken 14 Oct 2026, shown for review and commentary. Page content and branding belong to TechRadar.

TechRadar (Dan Sung, updated 6 October 2026) rated speed 8 out of 10 and unblocking 7 out of 10, saying the connection is less consistent than some rivals and that it struggles with some niche streaming services. It judges One the best value of the three plans. Its Alert test is the telling detail: a reviewer's card that had actually been targeted by fraudsters returned "no leaks found", while a spare email address produced 25 breach alerts. On One+, it says the Incogni add-on is hard to evaluate and costs over 60% more than One. Both sites carry affiliate links.

Audits and privacy

Surfshark's June 2025 blog post announcing its no-logs policy was verified again by Deloitte
Screenshot of the Surfshark blog post on the 2025 Deloitte no-logs verification taken 14 Oct 2026, shown for review and commentary. Page content and branding belong to Surfshark.

Surfshark's post dated 16 June 2025 says Deloitte interviewed staff, checked standard, static and multiport VPN servers, and inspected configuration and privacy settings, and that the ISAE 3000 report is available in user accounts. PCMag lists the January 2023 Deloitte audit, Cure53 audits in 2018 and 2021 and a SecuRing infrastructure audit in January 2026, and notes the quarterly transparency reports. TechRadar says an annual repeat would be better. The Terms add that user ID or IP and connection timestamps are stored briefly, and deleted within 15 minutes of the session ending. PCMag reports that Surfshark merged with Nordsec in 2022, that both are owned by a holding company called Cyberspace and that Surfshark says the two run on separate infrastructure.

Prices and renewals

On 14 October 2026 the EU page listed the 24-month term at €2.49 a month for Starter and One and €4.49 for One+, with a Black Friday banner on One. The 12-month Starter and One were €2.99 a month and monthly billing was €17.45, €19.95 and €22.85. Our earlier review on 3 October recorded One at €2.79, so promotional prices move. The page says only that you will be charged the applicable renewal price, so read that in your account before the term ends.

The guarantee covers your initial purchase within 30 days, once per service, and recurring payments are non-refundable. Bundled services must be cancelled together, and a free trial of 30 days or more removes the right to a refund. Cryptocurrency refunds are returned in the US-dollar equivalent. Trustpilot shows 4.3 out of 5 from 31,469 reviews, a claimed profile with a paid subscription that replies to 99% of negative reviews, and its AI summary highlights helpful support.

Buying advice

Decide whether you need the extras. If the VPN is the point, Starter on a long term is the cheapest route. If you want the antivirus and breach alerts, One on 12 or 24 months is the recommended tier, and cancel before day 30 if the apps do not suit your devices.

05How it compares

One against One+

One is the plan TechRadar recommends for value. One+ adds a data-removal service for a higher price. Prices are the EU page's 24-month and monthly figures on 14 Oct 2026.

A strong bundle if you take a long term and treat the extras as a bonus

Surfshark One and One+ build real extras onto an already well-tested VPN, and the audit record and test scores are better than most budget rivals. On a long term the price is low enough that the antivirus and alerts feel like a bonus.

How this review was put together

This is a desk-research review and a second, different article from our earlier Surfshark review. We have not subscribed to Surfshark One or One+ or run our own tests. Plan prices and contents come from the Surfshark EU pricing page and Surfshark One page (14 Oct 2026; the One page rendered in French); refund, renewal, bundle, connection and data-retention terms from the Terms of Service; audit details from Surfshark's June 2025 blog post (which we opened) and from PCMag's review. Test results come from PCMag (Justyn Newman, updated 22 May 2026, 4.5, Editors' Choice) and TechRadar (Dan Sung, updated 6 Oct 2026), both of which we opened; both carry affiliate links. Reputation figures are from the Trustpilot profile (claimed, paid subscription). We could not open the Deloitte ISAE 3000 report, which Surfshark says is in user accounts, so we rely on Surfshark's description and the outlets' summaries. Surfshark's 2023 audit date is from PCMag and a Surfshark blog post dated 25 January 2023 listed on its site. The pricing page's per-plan feature checklist could not be fully resolved from page text, so plan contents follow the One page and PCMag.
