WaveSpeedAI AI media API
One account and one API key for 1,000+ image, video, audio and language models, with pay-as-you-go pricing from half a cent per image and credits that never expire.

A broad, fairly priced gateway to the latest image and video models
WaveSpeedAI puts more than 1,000 image, video, audio, 3D and language models behind one account, a browser studio, a desktop app and a single REST API. Pricing is pay per use with no subscription, and the list prices are low.
If you want to try or ship generative media without juggling a dozen vendor accounts, WaveSpeedAI is an easy platform to start with. Documentation is clear, new models appear quickly, credits never expire, and failed or timed-out jobs are refunded automatically. The caveats are that purchased credits are non-refundable, new accounts start at tight rate limits, and independent hands-on coverage is still thin.
Right for
- Developers who want one API for many image, video, audio and LLM models
- Creators and small studios who prefer pay-per-use credits to monthly subscriptions
- Teams comparing models such as Seedance, Wan, Kling, Veo, Seedream and GPT Image side by side
Wrong for
- Buyers who want a refund on unused credits (they are non-refundable)
- Heavy production users who cannot start on the Bronze limits of 5 predictions per minute
- Anyone who needs a full video-editing suite rather than a generation service
+What it gets right
- Huge model catalogue. More than 1,000 models including Seedance 2.5, Wan 3.0, Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1, Seedream 5.0, GPT Image 2.5, FLUX and language models, all behind one API key.
- Low, transparent list prices. Images from $0.005, GPT Image 2.5 from $0.01 and video from $0.03 per second, with an “output per $1” column on the pricing page.
- No subscription, credits never expire. You top up and spend; the refund page says your balance never expires.
- Automatic refunds for failures. Failed requests, system errors and system timeouts are reversed automatically.
- Several ways in. A browser studio, desktop app, REST API with Python and JavaScript SDKs, a CLI, ComfyUI and n8n.
- Clear account tiers. Rate limits are published (5 to 5,000 predictions per minute), and a single top-up upgrades the tier.
- Notable customers named. Its customer page features Freepik, Novita AI and Cole Haan.
−Where it slips
- Credits are non-refundable. The terms say purchased credits are non-refundable except at WaveSpeedAI’s discretion.
- Tight starting limits. New Bronze accounts get 5 predictions per minute and 2 concurrent tasks; 500 per minute needs a top-up.
- Variable costs. Prices depend on model, resolution and duration, and reviewers note cumulative costs can be hard to predict.
- Content filters. A reviewer flags undisclosed content filters that can surprise users.
- Broad disclaimers. The terms say models may change or be removed, and outputs may be inaccurate or resemble other users’ results.
- Young company. Founded in 2025, so its track record is short and speed, uptime and user-count claims are the brand’s own.
Weighted for price, model access and what happens when a job fails
Model access, pricing and billing fairness carry the most weight, ahead of limits and independent proof. This is a desk-research score: we have not run production workloads on the platform.
The long version
What the brand's own pages say, what third-party reviewers report, and the fine print worth reading.
What WaveSpeedAI is
WaveSpeedAI is a Singapore-based inference platform founded in 2025. It hosts more than 1,000 image, video, audio, 3D and language models and offers them three ways: a browser studio, a desktop app and a REST API with Python and JavaScript SDKs. Everything is billed from one prepaid credit balance.

Pricing that is easy to read
The pricing page lists starting prices and an “output per $1” column, so you can see at a glance that $1 buys about 100 GPT Image 2.5 images or 20 seconds of Wan 3.0 video. Seedance 2.5 starts at $0.18 per second and Z-Image Turbo at half a cent per image. The page notes that real cost depends on resolution and duration, so check the model page before a big run.
Credits, refunds and limits
You buy credits in advance and they never expire. Failed requests, system errors and system timeouts are refunded automatically; a client-side timeout in synchronous mode is not, because the job may still complete. The terms say purchased credits are non-refundable unless WaveSpeedAI agrees otherwise.
New accounts begin on the Bronze tier with 5 predictions per minute and 2 concurrent tasks. One successful top-up lifts you to Silver (500 per minute), Gold (3,000) or Ultra (5,000), depending on the amount of that single top-up.
Developer experience
Documentation covers task submission, result polling, webhooks, streaming, file upload, LoRA training and an LLM service with prompt caching. There are SDKs, a CLI, ComfyUI and n8n integrations. The company names Freepik, Novita AI and Cole Haan among its customer stories.
What reviewers say
Review sites describe a large model library, pay-as-you-go pricing and quick output, with images in roughly two seconds and video in about two minutes on the brand’s own figures. Filmora also notes that cumulative costs can be hard to predict across models and that undisclosed content filters can surprise users. ToolRadar rates it good value among similar platforms.
Fine print worth reading
The terms let WaveSpeedAI change fees and models at any time, disclaim uninterrupted availability and warn that outputs may be inaccurate or similar to other users’ results. Disputes go to arbitration in Singapore. The company is young, and its speed, uptime and user-count figures are its own.

Prices are list prices at the lowest resolution or quality; actual cost depends on model parameters, and discounts may apply.

A strong one-stop shop for AI media, as long as you start small
WaveSpeedAI makes it simple to try the newest image and video models and then scale up through the same API. Low list prices, non-expiring credits, automatic refunds for failed jobs and a clear tier system are what most builders look for.
Read the credit and rate-limit terms before you commit a large top-up, check per-model prices as they vary, and treat speed and uptime claims as the brand’s own. For most creators and developers, it earns a place on the shortlist.
Consider it if you
- You want many AI media models behind one account and API
- You prefer pay-per-use credits to a subscription
- You are happy to start small and top up as your needs grow
Skip it if you
- You need refunds on unused credits
- You need high concurrency from day one without a top-up
- You want an all-in-one video editor rather than generation tools
How this review was put together
This is a desk-research review. We did not run production workloads. Pricing, tiers, refund and billing rules come from the brand's Pricing page, About page, Documentation (Refund Policy and Account Levels), Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Affiliate page, checked 1 Oct 2026. Independent opinion comes from review sites including Filmora (Wondershare, 23 Sep 2026) and ToolRadar; those sites summarise rather than test in depth. Speed, uptime and user-count figures (for example 99.99% uptime and 1M+ users) are the brand's own claims. We read the affiliate page; it does not address use of screenshots.
