Zendure SolarFlow 800 Plus and 1600 AC+ Budget plug-in solar batteries
Zendure's two cheaper SolarFlow batteries test well on efficiency and price per kWh, with 10-year warranties, but come with buyer-paid return shipping and a warranty that depends on keeping the cells charged.

Two cheaper SolarFlow batteries that test well, sold on terms that reward being sure
Our earlier review covered the SolarFlow 2400 AC+ and 800 Pro 2. This one looks at the two lower-priced models on zendure.fr. The SolarFlow 800 Plus takes panels directly and is built for a balcony system, while the SolarFlow 1600 AC+ couples to an existing solar installation and an optional smart meter. Both start at 1.92 kWh and grow with AB2000L batteries to 11.52 kWh.
Independent evidence is good but comes with caveats. Smartzone rated the 800 Plus a price-performance tip, with about 1,600 Wh usable and 16% round-trip losses. Techtest called the 1600 AC+ a clear recommendation, with 85.5% efficiency and 84.6% usable capacity, but Zendure supplied the unit and the test needed a smart meter that the page tells you to buy separately. Zendure.fr's Trustpilot score is 4.7 from 416 reviews on an unclaimed profile. The cost of changing your mind is real: you pay return shipping, which Zendure puts at about €150 to 250, and the warranty requires you to charge the cells within 30 days and every three months.
Right for
- Households adding a battery to a balcony system or an existing rooftop array on a modest budget
- Buyers who want to start with 1.92 kWh and add AB2000L modules later
- People who value a 10-year manufacturer warranty and are willing to keep the battery charged
Wrong for
- Anyone who wants an off-grid socket, because Smartzone notes the 800 Plus has none
- Buyers who want a cheap, risk-free trial, given buyer-paid return shipping
- People who want a built-in MPPT on the 1600 AC+, which Techtest says it lacks
+What it gets right
- Efficiency. Techtest measured 85.5% on the 1600 AC+, its best AC-coupled result so far, and Smartzone put the 800 Plus's combined losses at 16%.
- Low price per kWh. The 800 Plus is €539 for 1.92 kWh, about €281 per kWh, and the 1600 AC+ with one AB2000L is €959 for 3.84 kWh, about €250 per kWh.
- Modular growth. Both accept up to five AB2000L batteries for 11.52 kWh, and the store lists each combination as a variant.
- Long warranty. The warranty page lists 10 years for the SolarFlow 800 Plus and the SolarFlow 1600 AC.
- Low standby draw. Smartzone measured 0.1 to 0.3 W grid draw on the 800 Plus, with the battery covering the rest.
- Quick zero-feed-in. Smartzone saw load changes tracked in about three seconds with a smart meter, and Techtest saw 1 to 3 seconds on the 1600 AC+.
−Where it slips
- Buyer-paid return shipping. For non-defect returns, Zendure says return shipping can be about €150 to 250 and the refund can be reduced for installed or incomplete units.
- Warranty condition. The cells must be fully charged within 30 days of receipt and recharged at least once every three months, or the cell warranty lapses.
- Capacity is gross. Smartzone found about 83% of the 1,920 Wh nominal capacity usable on the 800 Plus, and Techtest 84.6% on the 1600 AC+.
- Smart meter needed. Techtest says the 1600 AC+ needs a meter to work well, and the store sells one as a €129 bundle upgrade.
- Supplied test unit. Techtest's 1600 AC+ unit was provided by Zendure, and its page carries affiliate links.
- Price gap vs launch. Smartzone cited a €399 list price in January, and Techtest said the 1600 AC+ starts under €500, against €539 and €719 on zendure.fr today.
Weighted for measured efficiency and cost per kWh, then warranty terms and what it costs to leave
Measured efficiency and cost per kWh carry the most weight for a battery sold on price. This is a desk-research score: we have not tested these units, and each is covered by one independent test.
The long version
What the two models offer, what Smartzone and Techtest measured, what customers report and what the French store's terms say.
Why a second look at Zendure
Our earlier review dealt with the SolarFlow 2400 AC+ and 800 Pro 2. The cheaper end of the range is where most first-time buyers will look, and zendure.fr currently pushes the SolarFlow 800 Plus and SolarFlow 1600 AC+. They share a 1.92 kWh LiFePO4 base and the same AB2000L add-on battery, but are meant for different houses.

What independent testers found
Smartzone (Michael, 13 January 2026) tested the SolarFlow 800 Plus and gave it a "price-performance tip". It praised the aluminium build, reliable dynamic feed-in and the app, and listed the sister 800 Pro as in-house competition, a PV input that peaks at about 1,300 W with both trackers loaded, and a heating function that still needed tuning. Measured usable capacity reached about 1,600 Wh after roughly ten cycles, around 83% of the 1,920 Wh rating, with combined charge and discharge losses of 16%, which the site called the best of the DC/AC storage systems it had tested. Standby grid draw was 0.1 to 0.3 W. In cold tests the battery heater only ran in AC-charging modes at first, and a firmware update changed that. The unit has no off-grid socket.
Techtest (17 July 2026) tested the SolarFlow 1600 AC+ on a home with a rooftop solar system and a balcony unit and called it a clear recommendation. It measured an average of 1,624 Wh usable on the base unit (84.6% of the rating), 3,384 Wh with one AB2000L (88.1%) and 85.5% efficiency, which it said was the best AC-coupled result it had measured, ahead of the Marstek Venus E Gen 3.0 (84.8%) and Solakon ONE (81.0%). Reaction time was 1 to 3 seconds with an Ecotracker, a little slower than rivals. It listed a smart meter requirement, no built-in MPPT and a crowded AI-heavy app as downsides. Techtest thanks Zendure for providing the unit.
What customers report

The zendure.fr page on Trustpilot shows 4.7 out of 5 from 416 reviews, with 79% five-star, 15% four-star and 4% one-star, and 312 reviews in the last 12 months. It is an unclaimed profile that has no history of asking for reviews, so the sample may not be representative. Visible reviews praise quick technical support and replacements, and mention long delivery times during stock shortages. Other Zendure country sites list different scores, for instance 3.9 for zendure.com from about 1,000 reviews, which is a reminder to check which store you are buying from.
On the store itself, the 800 Plus page shows 25 reviews and the 1600 AC+ page 21, both with a four-and-a-half star graphic. We did not read the review text.
The two models

SolarFlow 800 Plus
The page lists 1.92 kWh expandable to 11.52 kWh, dual MPPT up to 2 x 750 W and an 800 W AC output, 21.1 kg, IP65 and LiFePO4 cells. The screenshot shows the default variant with a smart meter at €668 (regular 728); the battery alone is €539 (regular 599). Bundles with two 500 W bifacial panels start at €719 without the meter. It is stock-listed for dispatch in 3 to 5 days, and components may arrive in separate parcels.

SolarFlow 1600 AC+
The page shows €719 against €979, 1.92 kWh expandable to 11.52 kWh, 1,600 W bidirectional AC, "plug and play at 800 W by default" and compatibility with existing rooftop PV inverters. Its own payback estimates (about 3.2 to 3.6 years) are modelled by Zendure under stated assumptions, not measured, so treat them as marketing.
The AB2000L expansion maths
Per kWh, the cheapest 1600 AC+ configuration on the store is one AB2000L: €959 for 3.84 kWh, about €250 per kWh. Two batteries are €1,478 (5.76 kWh), five are €3,035 (11.52 kWh, about €263 per kWh). Two details to check at the cart: the battery's stand-alone price differs between the two pages, and the smart meter adds €129 to every variant.
Returns, warranty and terms

- Cancellation. Full refund before the order leaves the warehouse, normally within two working days. Third-party payment fees may still apply.
- Returns. 30 days from receipt, complete and resaleable. The buyer pays return shipping for non-quality returns, about €150 to 250 according to the page.
- Deductions. Installed, wired or scratched units, or missing accessories and packaging, can reduce the refund.
- Refund timing. 5 to 7 working days after inspection, to the original payment method. The Xcotton shipping protection fee is not refunded.
- Warranty. 10 years listed for the SolarFlow 800 Plus and 1600 AC, 1 year on accessories. The cell warranty lapses if the battery is not fully charged within 30 days of receipt or recharged at least every three months.
- Replacement. A defect is normally replaced with a refurbished unit of equal or higher value if one is in stock.
- Current vs earlier review. The 30-day window, buyer-paid return shipping and the €150 to 250 estimate are unchanged. The refund policy page now shows an effective date of 24 June 2026.
Buying advice
Match the product to your house first: panels and battery together for the 800 Plus, existing inverter for the 1600 AC+. Add the smart meter unless you already own a compatible one. When the battery arrives, charge it fully within the first week and set a calendar reminder to recharge it every three months, because that is a condition of the cell warranty. Pay by card or PayPal and keep the serial number and invoice.
Everything on paper
Figures from zendure.fr product and policy pages and the two independent tests, checked 14 Oct 2026.
Policies apply to purchases on the French store and may differ for Amazon or other retailers. Prices vary by variant and sale.
SolarFlow 800 Plus against SolarFlow 1600 AC+
Both start with the same 1.92 kWh battery. The difference is how they connect and how much they can push out. Prices are zendure.fr prices on 14 Oct 2026, with the regular price in brackets.
| Model | Price | Connection and output | Independent test |
|---|---|---|---|
| SolarFlow 800 Plus | €539 (599) | Panels into 2 MPPT inputs; 800 W AC output; no off-grid socket | Smartzone, Jan 2026: price-performance tip, 1,600 Wh usable, 16% losses |
| SolarFlow 1600 AC+ | €719 (979) | AC-coupled to an existing PV inverter; 1,600 W bidirectional AC; 800 W by default | Techtest, 17 Jul 2026: clear recommendation, 85.5% efficiency, 84.6% usable (unit supplied by Zendure) |
Pick the 800 Plus if you are adding panels and a battery together for a balcony. Pick the 1600 AC+ if you already have a PV inverter and want an AC-coupled battery that can grow, and budget for a smart meter.

Efficient, low-priced batteries, bought knowing the warranty conditions and the cost of returns
The 800 Plus and 1600 AC+ are Zendure's value end, and the independent tests we found are favourable on efficiency and price per kWh. Both can grow in 1.92 kWh steps, and the 10-year warranties are long for the category.

How this review was put together
This is a desk-research review. We have not tested a Zendure unit ourselves. Prices, variants and specifications come from zendure.fr product pages and the store's public product data (checked 14 Oct 2026), and the refund and warranty terms from its policy pages. Independent evidence comes from Smartzone (SolarFlow 800 Plus test by Michael, 13 Jan 2026; no statement on how the unit was obtained and a price-comparison section with affiliate links) and Techtest (SolarFlow 1600 AC+ test, 17 Jul 2026; the unit was provided by Zendure and the page carries affiliate links). We found no test of either model with the AB2000L expansion beyond the Techtest measurement of one add-on battery. Que Choisir and Test-Achats were not re-checked for these models. Trustpilot was read on 14 Oct 2026 and the profile is unclaimed. We wrote our own text.
